A fire ripped through a sleeper bus bound for Dong Nai Province in southern Vietnam on Thursday morning.
No injuries or casualties were reported, authorities confirmed on the same day.
The bus driver saw the fire break near the vehicle’s rear wheel while the bus was traveling on the Phan Thiet-Dau Giay Expressway section in Dong Nai’s Cam My District at around 4:10 am.
This expressway links Dong Nai with south-central Binh Thuan Province.
The driver immediately pulled into the emergency lane and evacuated all passengers.
He attempted to extinguish the flames using a portable fire extinguisher but was unsuccessful.
The fire grew over the next 10 minutes before sweeping through the bus, leaving the entire vehicle and much of the luggage inside completely destroyed.
Firefighters and rescuers were quickly called to the scene to deal with the incident.
Police are investigating the cause of the blaze, Cam My authorities said the same day.
