-- General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit the Southeast Asian country during a phone talk on Tuesday.

-- The Ministry of Transport has put forth a proposal to construct a state-of-the-art north-south high-speed railway capable of reaching a maximum speed of 350 km/h.

-- StarLux Airlines of Taiwan will begin operating the first flight from Taipei to Phu Quoc International Airport on Phu Quoc Island City off Kien Giang Province, southern Vietnam from July 1, to mark the launch of a new route between the two destinations, according to national radio station Voice of Vietnam.

-- The 20th Ho Chi Minh City tourism festival is scheduled to take place from April 4 to 7 at 23/9 Park in District 1 to display hundreds of tourism products from across the country.

-- Six workers were missing and presumed dead from a bridge that collapsed in Baltimore Harbor early on Tuesday when a massive cargo ship crippled by a power loss rammed into the structure, forcing closure of one of the busiest ports on the U.S. Eastern Seaboard, Reuters reported.
