A Korean footwear company in Dong Nai Province, a neighbor of Ho Chi Minh City, plans to bring its 42,000 workers to Da Lat City in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong for a company trip over the course of three years.
The trip is scheduled to start this September, the company in question said.
Dang Tuan Tu, chairman of the trade union of South Korean-invested Chang Shin Vietnam Co. Ltd., confirmed to Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper that the trip was scheduled for after the National Day holiday, which is due on September 2, to optimize costs and ensure production plans.
Tu explained that the company's employees would be divided into groups, with each group visiting Da Lat on different days.
Overall, this initiative is planned to span three years, with approximately 12,000-15,000 employees visiting Da Lat in 2024.
Previously, the company’s trade union organized an all-expenses-paid trip to Vung Tau City in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province for the company's employees, which cost a total of VND20 billion (US$794,700).

On July 18, the trade union and the board of directors of Chang Shin Vietnam Co. Ltd. hosted a meal for the company's 42,000 employees.
The meal, which cost VND45,000 (US$1.8) per person, included caramelized shrimp, braised pork, eggs, boiled vegetables, fruits, and soft drinks.
During the event, workers had the opportunity to meet and speak with the company’s trade union and board of directors.
Ngo Duy Hieu, vice-chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, told Tuoi Tre that Chang Shin Vietnam Co. Ltd.'s planned company trip would help motivate their employees and strengthen relationships among them.
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor encourages trade unions at other companies to plan similar activities to care for their workers' well-being, such as company trips and football tournaments.
