The elevated section of the Nhon-Hanoi Station metro line, the second of its kind in Hanoi, served over 393,000 passengers during the first week of its operation, which started on August 8.
Statistics from Hanoi Metro, the operator of the metro line, indicated that on the first day of the 8.5-kilometer-long route’s commercial run, metro trains conducted 170 rides, transporting over 37,200 passengers.
The line operated 200 trips on August 9 and carried 52,280 passengers.
Nearly 66,090 passengers boarded metro trains on the new route on August 10.

The route attracted more passengers than the Cat Linh - Ha Dong metro line, the first of its kind in the capital city, during the first week of its operation.
The Cat Linh - Ha Dong metro route, which came on stream in November 2021, served 165,824 passengers during the first seven days of its official run.
The elevated section of the Nhon - Hanoi Station metro line includes eight stations: Nhon, Minh Khai, Phu Dien, Cau Dien, Le Duc Tho, Vietnam National University, Ha Pagoda, and Cau Giay.
Passengers are enjoying free rides for the first 15 days of the line's operation.
Free tickets have encouraged residents and tourists to experience trips on the elevated section.
Trains on the elevated stretch run every ten minutes from 5:30 am to 10:00 pm daily for the first three months of the route’s commercial operation.
The Nhon - Hanoi Station metro line stretches 12.5 kilometers from Nhon in Nam Tu Liem District to the Hanoi Railway Station in the downtown area, with 8.5 kilometers on elevated tracks, four kilometers underground, and one depot.
The metro line was designed to run through many universities, so it is expected to attract a huge number of passengers.
