Mozambique eyes expanding cooperation with Vietnam

While receiving new Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Van Trung on Thursday, Mozambican President Emilio Guebuza said Mozambique wishes to boost mutually beneficiary ties with Vietnam.

>> Mozambique calls for Vietnamese investments in multi-sectors The Mozambican President made the declaration at a reception held in Maputo on February 19 for Trung who presented his credentials.

The President said he hopes that the ambassador will serve as an effective bridge for further developing the traditional friendship between the two countries and peoples. He also highly valued the unyielding spirit of the Vietnamese people during their struggle for national independence in the past as well as their achievements gained in the current national building and development.

In reply, Ambassador Trung said that Vietnam will try its best to deepen its multifaceted cooperation with Mozambique, especially in trade, investment, agriculture, health, and education. He also congratulated the Mozambican Government and people on their considerable achievements in maintaining a high economic growth, reducing poverty, and improving the country’s position in the region and the world in general.

Vietnam and Mozambique established diplomatic relations on June 25, 1975.
