Two young sisters were killed and multiple people injured after a passenger bus crashed into several cars and motorcycles in the southern Vietnamese province of Binh Duong on Monday.

The 24-seater coach, driven by 30-year-old Tran Huu Tai, was running at high speed on My Phuoc-Tan Van Street at around 5:00 pm when it rammed a group of vehicles waiting at a red light.

The bus hit two cars before charging and slamming into at least four motorbikes.

The vehicle only stopped when it struck a post further along the road.

Authorities in Binh Duong completed their investigation at the scene of the accident at 8:00 pm the same day.

Preliminary information has revealed that the coach was not carrying any passengers at the time of the tragedy, while Tai, the driver, left the scene after causing the accident.
