-- A 22-year-old man in the southern Vietnamese province of Dong Nai suffered severe burns on 80 percent of his body after lighting a cigarette in a local gas station.

-- Investors in Ho Chi Minh City have proposed a project on building an elevated highway that provides access to Tan Son Nhat International Airport. The construction is expected to cost VND3.5 trillion (US$157 million) and aimed at alleviating traffic jams at the entrance to the airdrome.
