Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen is scheduled for an official visit to Vietnam on December 20 and 21.
The Cambodian head of government will visit Vietnam on Monday and Tuesday next week following an invitation from Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, according to Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The leader will be accompanied by a high-level delegation from the Cambodian royal government, the ministry said.
This is the second official visit PM Hun Sen has made to Vietnam since his re-appointment in September 2013. His latest official trip to Hanoi was in late 2013.
In October, the Cambodian premier visited Hanoi to participate in the 8th Cambodia- Laos- Myanmar- Vietnam (CLMV) Summit, the 7th Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS), and the World Economic Forum on the Mekong Region (WEF- Mekong).
Vietnam and Cambodia are set to grow their relationship in line with a motto of “good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive partnership and durable sustainability,” according to the Vietnam News Agency.
The two nations are striving for a bilateral trade turnover of US$5 billion.
