Police have discovered a large number of weapons, including military hardware, following a raid on a private house in the southern Vietnamese province of Binh Duong.
Officers swooped Monday on the home of a man only known as Son in An Hoa Hamlet, An Son Commune, Thuan An Town and found a huge volume of guns and bullets hidden inside.
The house is located deep inside an alley near a canal, hardly frequented by local residents.
The owner of the house has lived there for two years, the locals told police, adding that Son often closes his house and rarely talks to his neighbors.
A source revealed to Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper that a variety of weapons were stashed in the house, including military hardware and a massive amount of ammunition.
Son was nowhere to be found at the time of the police swoop.
Police officers were still blocking the house and searching the man’s car left at the scene at 2:00 am on Tuesday.
Civilians are completely banned by law from storing or owning guns or ammunition in Vietnam.
