-- Forest Management Department in the central city of Hue has released 30 pangolin individuals that have been seized from poachers, back to the wild, said Le Viet Ngoc, the department’s director on Tuesday.

-- According to the World Health Organization (WHO), from September 11, traffic police in five districts in Ho Chi Minh City will begin punishing motorists who are caught carrying non-helmeted children from the age of 6. The traffic violators will be fined from VND100,000 (US$5) to VND200,000 ($10).

-- France-Vietnam (FV) Hospital based in Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday sent an official document to media outlets in Vietnam, saying that they did not agree with the city’s department of health’s conclusion about the cause of death of 54-year-old patient Mai Trung Kien, who died after being treated at the hospital.

-- Rescuers have stopped searching for 6 missing crewmen on board Hoang Thinh 08 vessel that capsized off Hai Phong northern city on the evening of September 5 after 6 days of futile searching.

Politics:

-- Vietnam’s president Truong Tan Sang paid a first state-level visit to Kazakhstan from September 9-11 which is believed to help deepen relations between Vietnam and traditional friends, said Vietnamese Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh in an interview on Tuesday.

-- Deputy Defense Minister Sen. Lieut. Gen. Nguyen Chi Vinh met with Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Ranjit Rae in Hanoi on Tuesday to discuss preparations for the upcoming seventh Vietnam-India defense policy dialogue.
