“Broken Flowers” and “The Tree of Life,” two movies which once won big prizes at the Cannes International Film Festival, will be screened in Hanoi this week.
The film will be shown in original languages with Vietnamese subtitles by the Center for Assistance and Development of Movie Talents (TPD).
The 2005 French-American comedy-drama flick “Broken Flowers” is written and directed by Jim Jarmusch. The movie was nominated for the Palme d’Or and won the Grand Prix at the 2005 Cannes International Film Festival.
Terrence Malick’s “The Tree of Life” starring Brad Pitt won the Palme d’Or at the 2011 Cannes International Film Festival.
“Broken Flowers” will be screened at 7:30 pm on May 23 and “The Tree of Life” will be shown at 2:00 pm one day later at the center at 51 Tran Hung Dao Street in Hoan Kiem District.
The screenings, which are part of the center’s Cannes month, do not sell tickets. Visitors are welcome to donate to the center’s Young Cinema Fund for educational purposes.
