Vietnam’s national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines inaugurated Monday two new direct air routes connecting the central city of Da Nang with South Korea’s Seoul, and Siem Reap of Cambodia.

The airliner will offer three flights on Airbus 321 for the Da Nang - Seoul service on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and daily flight for the Siem Reap route with ATR-72 aircraft.

The four-hour flight for Seoul will depart from Da Nang at 00:05, and 04:00 from the South Korean city. The flight time of the Da Nang – Siem Reap service is 2 hours, 25 minutes.

The two new routes are expected to link Vietnam with South Korea and Cambodia, contributing to promoting economic, cultural and tourism cooperation between the countries, the airliner said in a statement.

Da Nang also has two other direct international air routes to Singapore and Hong Kong.

The central city received some 30,000 arrivals of South Korean tourists in 2012, and around 25,500 turns in the first half of this year, according to figures from the tourism department.
