A tourism complex in central Vietnam’s Quang Nam Province has earned five national records for its unique century-old houses.

House Vietnam Corp. - a real estate company – on Saturday announced that five certificates of record have been issued to the Vinahouse Space tourism complex in the province’s Dien Ban District.

The records were issued by the Vietnam Record Organization (Vietking).

The five records were bestowed on Vinahouse Space’s  new Vinahouse Museum- the country’s largest on ancient houses - and four other structures at the complex: an ecological house shaped like a conical hat with a roof made from dried coconut shells; a porcelain-encrusted lake; a 102-year-old cottage; and a traditionally-styled house with the most pillars.

The ecological house is like a 12m-high conical hat, with a diameter measuring 27.1m. Its roof is made from over two million dried coconut shells.

Meanwhile, the lake is encrusted with more than 5,000 porcelain discs from the Nguyen Dynasty (1902-1945) - the country’s last monarchy.

The 102-year-old cottage features purely Vietnamese architectural features and rustic charm, while the 200-year-old traditionally-styled house has more than 108 pillars.

The museum boasts 18 ancient houses, 15 restored architectural works and more than 12,000 artifacts.

Located some 45km to the north of Tam Ky District and 25km south of Da Nang City, the 11,000 m2 Vinahouse Space complex was opened to the public in 2013 after a nine-year construction process.
