Christmas carol lovers in the capital will be drawn to a concert at L'Espace, 24 Trang Tien Street, this Saturday afternoon.
Under the baton of Ton That Triem, soprano Xuan Thanh and the Hope Choir of the Nguyen Dinh Chieu School for vision-impaired children will sing familiar Christmas melodies such as Joy to the World, Christmas Bells and Jingle Bells.
Singing in Vietnamese, German, French and Italian, the vocalists will treat audiences to traditional melodies from across the world.
Also at the concert, Vietnamese ballet dancers Cao Chi Thanh and Truc Quynh will perform an extract of Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky while dancers from Xa Dan school for deaf and dumb children have planned a Michael Jackson-style dance.
Established about 10 years ago, the Hope Choir has many musicians and singers who were trained at the Viet Nam Academy of Music.
Pianist Ton That Triem and his wife soprano Xuan Thanh has accompanied the students for about 10 years. They hold concerts around the city particularly during the Christmas season.
"The artistic performances bring joy to the children and encourage them, many of whom are musical talents," said Triem.
Sponsored by Ha Noi's Relief Association for Handicapped Children the concert will start at 3pm. Entrance is free.
