A festival featuring Vietnamese and Japanese cultures will take place in the ancient city of Hoi An from August 24 to 28.
Titled “Vietnam – Japan culture exchange,” the event will include street arts, performances showcasing the two countries’ traditional dance, haiku poem and handicrafts exhibitions. It will also display photos featuring the 10 years of relationship between the two countries as well works depicting Japan’s rescue activities in the tsunami in March.
The festival will be held by the Embassy of Japan, the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam, and the Japan International Cooperation Agency in collaboration with Quang Nam province.
Meanwhile, the Vietnam Embassy in Japan will also organize a festival featuring Vietnamese culture at Yoyogi Park in Tokyo. The event will consist of Vietnamese traditional music performances and an outdoor fair titled “Meet Vietnam” with booths showcasing Vietnamese cuisine and souvenirs.
The festival in Japan will take place in two days from September 15.
