Two four-seater cars were hit by a trailer truck in a north-central Vietnamese province on Sunday, leaving seven people injured, local police said.
Officers confirmed on Sunday evening that the victims were sent to a local hospital after the wreck in Nghi Loc District, Nghe An Province.
The incident occurred at around 3:00 pm when Dang Van Thuc, the truck driver, 33, living in Bim Son Commune, Thanh Hoa, a province next to Nghe An, was driving south on National Highway 1, said local witnesses.
The truck hit a car which was turning left, driven by Pham Thi Thao, which threw the vehicle 10 meters away, flipping it over.
The container-carrying vehicle then veered to the other side of the street and collided with another car carrying six people, including driver Nguyen Huy Hieu, 33, from Trieu Son District, Thanh Hoa.
The consecutive impacts have left seven people in the two automobiles injured.
The victims have all been transferred to a local hospital, said local police.
The two autos hit were heavily damaged, causing traffic congestion for 30 minutes.
