Local designs to be showcased at ancient French castle

Around 80 works by Vietnamese designers Minh Hanh, Cong Khanh and Trong Nguyen will be showcased at the famous Chambord Castle in France on September 7, as part of the Vietnamese - French cultural exchange program.

Minh Hanh’s designs were inspired by the phoenix, the bird presenting noble beauty, happiness and freedom. She used traditional materials like handmade lace, H'mong linen, silk and brocade in her collection. Crocodile skin is also featured on some of the designs.

Inspired by Gothic art and the architecture of Chambord Castle, designer Cong Khanh chose silk with a printing technique and wood jewelry for his outfits, while Trong Nguyen created an East - West mixed style by putting the patterns of paintings displayed in the castle on Vietnamese ao dai.

Vietnamese beauties and models including Miss Vietnam Ngoc Han, Hong Que, Kha My Van, Lam Thu Hang and some French models will showcase the outfits. An ao dai performance by French and Vietnamese children will also be held at the event.
