A man was killed by a tiger while taking care of it at a breeding farm in the southern Vietnamese province of Binh Duong on Friday afternoon.
Luong Van Hai, 40, an employee at the tiger breeding farm in Binh An Commune, Di An Town, was found dead at around 4:00 pm, allegedly being killed by one of the animals at the facility.
Officers from the local police unit and the provincial Forest Protection Department were still investigating the scene to determine the cause of the death at 9:30 pm the same day.
According to a report by Ngo Duy Tan, the owner of the breeding farm, Hai had many years of experience in raising the dangerous predators.
The tiger that attacked Hai is over 10 years old and sick, Tan stated, adding that the victim was killed while providing care for the animal.
Hai moved from his hometown in the northern province of Thai Binh to Binh Duong several years ago.
The tiger breeding farm is one of the few facilities that are licensed to raise the type of predator in the province.
According to an employee, the venue is home to a total of 16 tigers.
