Vietjet will begin flying between Ho Chi Minh City and Hong Kong starting this December, the Vietnamese low-cost carrier announced Thursday.
Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, as part of his official visit to Hong Kong, attended the announcement ceremony for the new nonstop route alongside the chief secretary for administration of the Hong Kong SAR government.
The Ho Chi Minh City-Hong Kong service will commence operations on December 9, with one round-trip flight per day, according to Vietjet.
Flight time for the trip will last 2 hours 45 minutes each way.
The new route will depart daily from Ho Chi Minh City at 2:35 pm (local time) and arrive at Hong Kong International Airport at 6:20 pm (Hong Kong time).
Return flight will take off at 7:20 pm (Hong Kong time) and land at 9:05 pm (local time).
“We believe that our new Ho Chi Minh City - Hong Kong route will better connect these two dynamic financial hubs and tourism destinations,” the carrier said.
