-- Cambodia’s Prime Minister Hun Sen ordered authorities to publicize the map used by the country in demarcating its border with Vietnam at the meeting of his Cabinet on Friday. He also said that the documents related to the map have been ratified by the King and the Cambodian National Assembly, and serve as historical evidence in scientific research on the national territory.Society

-- Police in the southern province of Binh Phuoc on Friday officially identified Tran Dinh Thoai, 27, as the third suspect in the striking killing of six people in a family in Chon Thanh District on July 7. Thoai was arrested on August 9, about a month after the capture of the other two alleged murderers.

-- Six ex-railway officials who were found sharing a total of nearly US$500,000 in kickbacks from a Japanese consultant firm in relation to an ODA-funded project in Hanoi from 2009 to 2014 will be brought to trial on October 26, according to the Hanoi People’s Court.

-- Police in Dong Hoi city of the central province of Quang Binh on Friday commenced legal proceedings against two nursemaids, both 22, who tied hands of a 15-month-old baby boy and gagged his mouth with a towel at Son Ca Preschool in the city on October 3. 

-- The prices of medical services at state-owned hospitals will be increased by at least 20 percent in the coming time, as all expenses directly related to medical examination and treatment will be added to service fees starting December this year, and salaries for health workers will also become part of the fees from March 2016, according to a roadmap issued by the Ministry of Health.

-- Within this month, the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade will provide businesses with the contents of Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement, a trade liberalization pact that was reached by Pacific trade ministers on October 5 to cut trade barriers and set common standards for 12 countries, the ministry said a press briefing in Hanoi on Friday.

-- Ho Chi Minh City needs to have at least US$60 billion to invest in anti-flooding projects from now until 2020, but the calling for private investment in this field in the form of Public-Private Partnership is facing difficulties as the profitability ratio of many projects remain low, experts said at a seminar on Friday.  

-- The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam on Friday announced a plan to expand the premises of the Ho Chi Minh City-based Tan Son Nhat International Airport by eight hectares by 2020 in a bid to improve its operating capacity and ease the current passenger overload.

-- Vietnamese chess star Le Quang Liem beat U.S. rival Andrew Boekhoff in his third game in the first round of the 2015 Millionaire Chess Open tournament in Las Vegas on early Saturday morning (Vietnam time), marking his third consecutive victory in the tournament, which draws 167 players from across the world who are vying for the first prize of US$100,000.
