Saturday, November 10, 2012, 12:39 GMT+7

The glass window of the cockpit of an Air Mekong Airlines plane cracked when the aircraft was flying from Ho Chi Minh City to Kien Giang Province’s Phu Quoc Island on Thursday. After the incident, which happened due to unknown causes, the pilot of the plane, a Bombardier, decided to fly back to HCMC for a glass replacement, Air Mekong said. After the replacement, the plane resumed operation as normal yesterday, the firm confirmed. Last year the same incident occurred to Vietnam Airlines’ VN1118 aircraft, which urgently landed at Da Nang Airport after a crack was found on its cabin glass while it was flying from HCMC to Hanoi on April 23, 2011. Due to the incident, the national flag carrier arranged another flight to take the passengers to the capital later the same day.
