A Japanese-invested complex including a gastronomic quarter, a shopping area and convenience shops was inaugurated in the southern province of Binh Duong on Tuesday.
>> Japanese-style bus route launched in southern Vietnam The complex covers an area of about 1,600 m2 in the central area of Binh Duong New City, an urban-industry-service complex in the province. The complex belongs to the first phase of a cooperation project named Hikari between Japan’s Tokyu Group and its Vietnamese partner, Binh Duong-based Becamex IDC Cooperation. The facility, which is operated in the Japanese style, is the first large-scale gastronomic and shopping area in Binh Duong New City. The Tokyu Group is also the investor of the green bus system that was put in operation on December 18, 2014 to link Binh Duong New City and Thu Dau Mot City, another part of the province. The 22.1-km long bus route is called “Kaze Shuttle”, which runs on compressed natural gas (CNG) that is not harmful to the environment. The interior part of the bus is very convenient and has five cameras to monitor the driver, passengers and the vehicle’s itinerary. In addition, the group has also invested in a project to build a Japanese-style urban area in Binh Duong New City with a total investment of US$1.2 billion.
