-- Saigon Railways is planning to launch a new luxurious carriage in the SPT8 train running on the Ho Chi Minh City-Phan Thiet route on September 2. The carriage has 56 seats which can be converted into beds equipped with sockets for phone and computer charging.

-- The People's Procuracy of the Central Highlands city of Da Lat on Wednesday ratified a decision to prosecute taxi driver Pham Tuan Anh, 24, for robbing a female passenger the same day. The passenger was beaten by Anh after she found him stealing her money and cellphone.

-- Authorities in the north-central province of Nghe An have slapped a VND12.5 million ($558) fine on Tran Tuan Vinh, 26, residing in Quy Hop Town, as he created a fake Facebook account and used it to insult the Hanoi Beer Alcohol and Beverage Joint Stock Corp.
