The U.S. Embassy in Hanoi is recruiting Vietnamese host institutions for the Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship Program in the 2014-15 academic year, it announced Monday in a press release.
This program offers universities and colleges throughout Vietnam, outside Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, opportunities to host a native English speaker who will work as a teaching assistant from September 2014 to May 2015.
Fulbright English teaching assistants’ responsibilities include teaching English through listening and speaking lessons as well as partaking in cultural exchange programs.
They are U.S. college graduates eager to teach English overseas and serve as cultural ambassadors of the United States.
Application will close at 5:00 pm on February 28. For further information and the application package, contact Ms. Nguyen Hue Chi at +84-4-3850-5000 (Ext. 6033) or via email NguyenChi@state.gov.
First launched in Vietnam in 2008, the English Teaching Assistantship Program seeks to foster English learning and teaching at Vietnamese educational institutions, provide a cultural exchange between Americans, Vietnamese students, and host institutions, and further advance the two countries’ mutual understanding and cooperation.
