A 27-year-old Russian man on the run from Interpol for killing a countryman at home in 2014 was arrested by police in south-central Vietnam on Friday.

Nosov Denis was apprehended at a rented house in Nha Trang, the capital of Khanh Hoa Province, according to officers.

Nha Trang police began searching for the fugitive on October 26, after receiving tip-off that he might be staying somewhere in the province.

Officers had disguised as employees of a tourist firm to approach the rent house and found Nosov there, according to Colonel Vo Duc Than, head of the criminal hunting police division under the provincial Police Department.

The Russian was immediately held for interrogation.

In March 2014, Nosov stabbed a countryman in Kamchatskiy, causing serious injury to the victim, and fled abroad, according to the Interpol records.

In mid-September 2015, the Interpol issued an international hunt for the offender.

Nosov admitted the incident when questioned by the Vietnamese police.

Col. Than said the provincial police and the Ministry of Public Security’s Criminal Hunting Department are carrying procedures to hand the criminal to Russian authorities.
