Two Vietnamese films have been chosen to compete at the 21th Busan International Film Festival in South Korea next month.

The movies, including Ngo Thanh Van’s ‘Tam Cam: The Untold Story’ and Truong Minh Quy’s ‘The City of Mirrors: A Fictional Biography,’ will be among 56 competitors in the annual festival’s A Window on Asia Cinema category.

Another Vietnamese film, ‘Culi Never Cries’ by young director Pham Ngoc Lan, has also been selected to be screened at the Asian Project Market 2016, an event within the framework of the Busan International Film Festival.

The 2016 Busan International Film Festival will take place from October 6 to 15 with the participation of 301 films from 69 countries.

During the past years, Vietnam has sent numerous works to the festival, especially the A Window on Asian Cinema category, such as Nguyen Vo Nghiem’s ‘2030,’ Phan Dang Di’s ‘Bi, Don't Be Afraid’ and ‘Big Father, Small Father and Other Stories,’ Nguyen Phan Quang Binh’s ‘Quyen,’ and Nguyen Hoang Diep’s ‘Flapping in the Middle of Nowhere,’ to name a few.
