The tallest five-star hotel in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta was opened in Can Tho City on the weekend.

Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup officially put into operation its Vinpearl Can Tho, a 120 meter high hotel with 30 floors and three basements, which is considered the tallest building in the Mekong Delta, on Saturday.

According to Le Khac Hiep, vice-president of the corporation, Vinpearl Can Tho is the first five-star hotel meeting international standards in the city.

As part of Vingroup’s newest brand, Vinpearl City Hotel, the hotel is expected to provide high quality services in the dynamic economic and social hub, alongside other high-end resorts in such famous beach destinations across Vietnam as Nha Trang, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, and Ha Long.

With 262 rooms, the hotel has raised the number of Vinpearl rooms to 6,000 throughout the Southeast Asian country.

Vinpearl Can Tho includes one buffet restaurant, a Chinese eatery, a five-star swimming pool with an outdoor bar, and a Vincharm Spa complex with eight treatment rooms.

It also accommodates a large conference room, covering over 700 square meters, which can house 500 people, and three smaller meeting rooms.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, chairman of the Can Tho People’s Committee Vo Thanh Thong stated that Can Tho, located in the heart of the Mekong Delta, is an ideal destination for domestic and international tourists who wish to learn more about the local lifestyle.

The Vinpearl hotel is intended to boost the city’s tourism and thus contribute to local development, Thong continued.
