KinderWorld International Group, a Singapore-based educational firm, and the administration of Hai Phong City, northern Vietnam jointly organized a groundbreaking ceremony for the group’s first Singapore International School in the city on Friday.

The school, located along Vo Nguyen Giap Street in Le Chan District, will be the 16th Singapore International School campus in Vietnam, demonstrating KinderWorld’s commitment to expanding its operations in the Southeast Asian country, the group stated.

The school project, covering an area of more than three hectares, will be developed in two phases, with the first covering blocks of classrooms and a multi-purpose sports complex including a football field, a swimming pool, and an auditorium.

It is expected that the international school will be put into operation in August this year.

As one of the largest campuses of KinderWorld in Vietnam, the school will offer educational services to some 1,500 students from pre-school to high school levels.

Le Khac Nam, deputy chairman of the Hai Phong administration, lauded KinderWorld’s decision to invest in the city by building an international-standard school.

In recent years, Hai Phong has not only made significant economic strides but has also prioritized enhancing the quality of education and training to cultivate high-caliber human resources.

"Thanks to the dedicated focus of municipal Party Secretary Le Tien Chau, this project swiftly completed all required procedures," noted Nam.

Ricky Tan, chairman of KinderWorld, explained that once the school is operational, it will cater to the educational needs of children from foreign experts, investors, and foreign workers residing and working in Hai Phong.

It will also fulfill the desire for access to high-quality education among students and their parents in the city and the surrounding areas.

The school is the first project in KinderWorld’s investment plan in Hai Phong, Tan said, affirming that the group will continue building more international schools, vocational training centers, and outdoor education and eco-tourism complexes in the future.

Established in 1986 in Singapore, KinderWorld International Group is dedicated to offering a combination of Eastern values with an international outlook on education.

In the late 1990s, the group extended its operations into overseas markets, including Vietnam.

KinderWorld established international pre-school centers branded as KinderWorld International Kindergarten in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in 2000, and international elementary schools branded as Singapore International School in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in 2004, alongside additional schools in various locations across Vietnam, according to the group’s website.
