Columnist Richie Humphrey writes a poem on his mother's birthday
We email and tweet and comment on pictures. A million likes don’t equal one kiss on your hand. The ocean between us has downsides. Kisses and hugs now pokes and likes or skypes at night. On your birthday what can I do for you? What dashing, digital deed dare I do that didn’t get done for someone else by someone. I usually just “hbd” everyone but no, that’s not for mum. Do you like my status mom? I wrote this poem across the sea. I hope when you read these words on your screen you know they are from me more than an hbd. Happy, Happy Happy birthday mom. |
