Sungha Jung, a South Korean guitar prodigy and YouTube sensation, will give a concert in Ho Chi Minh City tonight, Apr 12.

Jung’s concert, to take place at 7pm at Ben Thanh Theater, 6 Mac Dinh Chi, district 1, is part of his 2014 Concert tour to Vietnam.

His concert will also feature guest stars, Van Mai Huong and Quang Dang, runners-up of the Vietnamese versions of American reality shows “The Voice” and “So you think you can dance”.

The 17-year-old artist gave a successful performance in Hanoi in mid Jan 2014, but had to cancel his January show in HCMC.

Those who bought tickets to his cancelled January show are now eligible for new ones.

Tickets cost from VND999,000 (US$47.12) to VND1,599.000.

Sungha Jung began playing the guitar at 9 years old and was catapulted to fame only two years later.

An acoustic fingerstyle guitarist, Jung’s YouTube channel has more than 2.5 million subscribers.

Nicknamed the “Guitar Prodigy” and the “August Rush” in Korea, the young virtuoso creates acoustic covers and arrangements, typically by ear and/or by watching videos.

Jung has released three albums, “Perfect Blue”, “Irony” and “Paint It Acoustic” along with the album “The Duets” featuring guitar duets.

His fourth album, titled “Monologue”, is scheduled to be released later this month.
