Vietnamese ao dai to be showcased in Ukraine

18 ao dai from the collection titled “Hoa Cua Pho” (Flowers of street) made by designer Thuan Viet will be showcased in Ukraine this week.

The ao dai is made of silk and embroidered with apricot flowers, orchids, chrysanthemums and bamboo patterns, delivering a wish of luck and prosperity from Vietnamese people to Ukrainian friends.

The designs will be featured at the show  “Khat Vong Tuoi Tre 6” (6th Youth’s desire) at the Kharkov Opera House on September 13 and 14 with the participation of more than 200 Vietnamese and Ukrainian artists.

Miss Vietnam 2006 Duong My Linh, Miss Vietnam World 2010 Luu Thi Diem Huong, first runner-up of Miss Ethnicity Vietnam 2007 Truong Thi May, first runner-up of Miss Vietnam 2012 Do Hoang Anh, first runner-up of Miss Photo 2012 Vu Ngoc Hoang Oanh, Vietnam Supermodel 2002 Thu Hang together with 12 Ukrainian supermodels will perform at the event.

Also, three other Thuan Viet’s ao dai collections “Snowy Flowers”, “The Far East Pearl” and “The Vietnam beauty” will be introduced at the Vietnam – Japan cultural exchange held in Japan from Sept 11 to 25. The collection features Japanese spring flowers created with the Vietnamese hand embroidery art on the white silk of the ao dai. The exchange is part of activities to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Vietnam – Japan diplomatic ties.
