European ambassadors deliver Tet wishes to Vietnam in viral video

EU Member States Ambassadors to Vietnam have recently delivered wishes to Vietnam as the country’s Lunar New Year approaches.

Vietnamese people call the Lunar New Year ‘Tet,’ which falls on February 8 this year.

At the beginning of the 5-minute-32-second video piblished yesterday, EU Ambassador to Vietnam Bruno Angelet met with British Ambassador to Vietnam Giles Lever, French Ambassador to Vietnam Jean-Noël Poirier and Romanian Ambassador to Vietnam Valeriu Arteni to discuss a secret plan.

The four together sit down at a street pho (Vietnamese beef noodle soup) restaurant, made food order in Vietnamese and discussed their plan, also in fluently Vietnamese.

After a throughout discussion, the ambassadors decided to buy flowers before meeting with other EU Member States Ambassadors.

The four ambassadors also showed their local experiences through bargaining with the sellers, and discussing if this year’s peach blossom flowers are blooming early.

Later, the ambassadors together with other EU Member States Ambassadors from Sweden, the U.K., Germany, Austria, Denmark, Finland, Poland, Hungary, Belgium, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Italy, Greece, Spain, Czech Republic, Ireland, the Netherlands, delivered best wishes to Vietnam and its people on the occasion of Tet holiday.

“Chúc mừng năm mới Việt Nam!,” (Happy New year Vietnam!), all concluded the video.

After only 14 hours being posted on the Facebook page of the European Union in Vietnam, teh video has received more than 5,500 likes with nearly 3,000 shares over the social network.

Many Vietnamese netizens also flocked to page to express their thanks to the ambassadors and deliver new year wishes to them.
