Seen from sky: Vietnam’s Sa Pa blanketed with snow

Seen from sky: Vietnam’s Sa Pa blanketed with snow

Monday, January 25, 2016, 09:34 GMT+7

Sa Pa, a famous resort town in the northern Vietnamese province of Lao Cai, has been covered in a whiteout, as snow started to fall on Sunday.

Snow began flurrying in the beloved town around 12:30 am on Sunday, and fell intermittently and even thickened during the previous night.

Vehicles, vegetation and roofs in the area were coated with blankets of snow.

Temperatures kept plummeting and plunged to as low as minus two degrees Celsius at certain points.

While many tourists are flocking to the town to enjoy the chilly weather, local residents are struggling as their crops and cattle are being destroyed by the frigid climate.

The frosty weather conditions in Sa Pa can be seen in the following series of photos taken with a drone by a Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper contributor.
