Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper is showcasing entries of a year-long photography contest it organized at a week-long photo exhibition that kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City on Friday.
The admission-free exhibition, featuring 55 photo reportages shortlisted from the competition themed “Vietnam – Country – People,” is open at the city’s book street on Nguyen Van Binh Street in District 1 until October 27.
An award ceremony was also organized to honor the winners of the contest from the southern provinces and cities.
Participants from the northern localities will receive their rewards during a similar gallery run from November 11 at the Vietnam Art Photograph Archives and Exhibition Center in Hanoi.
The photo contest was jointly organized by Tuoi Tre newspaper and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, running from August, 2015 to July, 2016 and attracting 299 artists across Vietnam with 8,593 photos.
Eleven participants will be crowned with gold, silver, and bronze medals for their outstanding works.
The first 100 visitors to the art gallery will also be given a chance to a variety of gifts from the organizers.
