Dr. Doan Cam Thi, a Vietnamese – French researcher, lecturer and translator, has been remarkably active in promoting Vietnamese contemporary literary works to France and the Francophone community.
Duong Tuong, a revered translator, recently admitted to, and apologized for including the annotations from another book in his translated version of “Lolita”, the classic novel by Russian author Vladimir Nabokov.
Local translators in a meeting refuted the harsh criticism directed at some of their colleagues for their blunders, by stressing that translating is a process in which translators contemplate and convey the original author’ s ideas through their own lens.
