A real estate company has rented 1,000 VinFast electric cars to promote green tourism in Da Nang City, central Vietnam through an electric car rental model.

Green Future Trading and Service JSC, a car rental and used car business founded by Vingroup chairman Pham Nhat Vuong, on Friday inked a lease deal for 1,000 electric vehicles with First Real Estate JSC.

The contract was signed just three days after Green Future’s official entry into the central region.

According to the contract announced by Green Future, renting 1,000 VinFast electric cars to First Real in Da Nang aims to promote the green tourism model and expand the sustainable transportation ecosystem in the coastal city.

Initially, First Real will receive the first 300 VinFast cars. The remaining cars are expected to be delivered in 2025 to serve tourists.

Two subsidiaries of First Real will take charge of the entire car rental operation by working with domestic and international travel agencies to expand the rental network and add new vehicle pickup and drop-off points.

According to Nguyen Duc Minh, deputy sales director at Green Future, Da Nang is one of the key localities that the company will focus on in 2025, thanks to the city’s development directions that align with the company’s business model, including the sustainable green tourism development.

In late February, the Da Nang People's Committee and Vingroup signed a memorandum of understanding to promote green transformation and sustainable development.

During this meeting, Le Thi Thu Thuy, vice-chairwoman of Vingroup, said that in addition to increasing the use of electric vehicles, Vingroup and the Da Nang administration will study and develop the Da Nang - Hue electric bus line to serve local residents and tourists.

The Da Nang government will support Vingroup members in promoting electric taxi services to reduce emissions and identifying locations for charging stations.

Notably, both the Da Nang People's Committee and Vingroup Group announced plans to cooperate in developing carbon credit projects from electric vehicles and charging stations, and completing the registration process for carbon credit projects on international exchanges.
