More than 2,000 Vietnamese candidates participated in the national qualifying round of the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) World Championship in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang, starting with the opening ceremony held in Hanoi on Sunday.

The MOS World Championship 2024 offers two exam versions: Microsoft Office 2019 and Microsoft 365 Apps.

Each version includes three exams covering Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

There will be one first, three second, five third, and 12 consolation prizes, as well as one promising prize awarded to the youngest candidate in each exam.

After the national round, the six best candidates will become MOS Vietnam Ambassadors to join the world finals set to take place in California at the end of July.

This year, scholarships will be awarded to candidates from disadvantaged areas in Vietnam for their remarkable efforts in overcoming obstacles and excelling in information technology.

MOS World Championship is an annual international competition organized by the U.S. Certiport Group, which provides testing and certification services for leading IT companies, for students aged 13 to 22, aiming to discover and honor the world’s top IT talents proficient in office applications.

Vietnam first participated in the competition in 2010 and has consistently earned medals for 12 consecutive years, including four gold, four silver, and 12 bronze medals.
