A footbridge is scheduled to be put into operation in the capital city of Hanoi next month following over a year of construction.

The three-way pedestrian bridge connects the sidewalk of Hoang Minh Giam Street along Thanh Xuan Park with two separate street corners on either side of Nguyen Thi Thap Street in Thanh Xuan District.

Construction of the 49-meter-long link with three four-meter walkways commenced in May 2020.

The Y-shaped bridge employs a steel box girder upper structure supported by three main steel-and-concrete pillars, according to a representative of Thanh Xuan District’s Management Board for Construction Investment Project.

This representative also shared that the new footbridge will be inaugurated on June 30.

“This footbridge is considered to be the most esthetically pleasing and beautiful among the current pedestrian bridges in the capital city,” Thanh Xuan District’s cultural and information division proudly affirmed.

Local people have hailed the new bridge for both its utility and design.

“The footbridge makes it more convenient for pedestrians and cyclists to cross the road, especially at rush hour,” said Le Tran Trung Hieu, a junior at the University of Labor and Social Affairs, who often travels through the area of the new footbridge.

“I think this is the most beautiful pedestrian bridge in Hanoi.

"A few days ago, my friends and I came here to take pictures.”
