Police in Vietnam’s Central Highlands province of Lam Dong arrested a 43-year-old man two hours after he slit his 38-year-old wife’s throat over financial conflicts and fled on Sunday morning.

Police officers identified the man as Hoang Van Lam and the victim as Dang Thi Thanh.

While Thanh was sleeping in their house in Lam Dong’s Bao Lam District at around 2:00 am on Sunday, Lam used a knife to control her and slit her throat.

After Thanh died on the spot, Lam fled the house.

Their family members were quick to discover the incident and report it to local authorities.

Police officers managed to arrest Lam hiding at a nearby coffee field about two hours later.

According to the man’s initial testimony, he and his wife had a conflict over financial issues recently.
