Vietnam will meet Taiwan in Group I’s opener at the 2022 AFC U23 Asian Cup qualifiers in Kyrgyzstan at 5:00 pm on Wednesday (Vietnam time).

The game will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television’s VTV6 and VTV5.

Vietnam are expecting a victory to earn an official ticket to the final tournament as the group leaders because Taiwan are considered the underdogs.

The Golden Stars will then compete against Myanmar on November 2.

The 2022 AFC U23 Asian Cup qualification is an international men’s under-23 football competition which is organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to decide the participating teams of the finals in Uzbekistan.

Forty-two teams were drawn into nine groups of four and two groups of three teams, including Vietnam’s Group I.

Teams in each group will play each other once at a centralized venue from October 23 to November 2.

A total of 16 teams will qualify for the final tournament, including hosts Uzbekistan, eleven group winners and the four best runners-up.

The finals will take place from June 1 to 19, 2022.
