The Mieu Bay Ba troupe clinched the championship at the International District 5 Open Kylin-Lion-Dragon Championship held in Ho Chi Minh City from January 9 to 12, outshining strong competitors from both domestic and international stages, including Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand.

The closing ceremony was held on Sunday night at the District 5 Culture and Sports Center.

Many international and domestic troupes showcased their impressive skills and creative moves, demonstrating their techniques and a strong sense of national pride and unity.

Le Hong, head of the Mieu Bay Ba team, shared that this is their seventh time in the competition.

“We did not feel pressure competing against international teams. Our main goal was to showcase our skills to the people in Ho Chi Minh City. Despite numerous injuries during training, the team's dedication paid off with this well-deserved victory,” Hong added.

According to Nguyen Ngoc Tu, deputy president and general secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Kylin-Lion-Dragon Dance Federation, the participating teams this year had effectively conveyed messages of patriotism and national pride.

The international teams also brought their unique culture to the competition.

Their technical skills have really stepped up, showcasing a variety of challenging and dynamic moves that thrilled the audience.

However, Tu pointed out that some teams should have better embodied the theme 'Nation Full of Joy' and avoided those simple errors.
