ChatGPT, a popular artificial intelligent (AI) chatbot from OpenAI, has announced that its new subscription plan, ChatGPT Plus, is available in Vietnam, but many users reported they were unable to complete the payment process.
Users who had already registered an account for ChatGPT at chat.openai.com on Saturday saw a notice that ChatGPT Plus had been available in Vietnam since Friday.
The service provider said subscribers to ChatGPT Plus will receive a number of benefits, including general access to ChatGPT, even during peak times, faster response time, and priority access to new features and improvements.
Subscribers are required to pay US$20 a month for this subscription plan.
However, many users reported on Saturday they were unable to complete the payment process for ChatGPT Plus after trying international payment cards of different banks.
They all received the same message saying that their cards were denied.
“It is possible that ChatGPT has established some technical connections for the transaction, so the payment is not accepted for the time being,” an expert on this field told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper.
“Users may be able to complete the payment in the next few days.”
Despite the notice about ChatGPT Plus’s availability in Vietnam, users in the country were still not able to register for the service normally as of Saturday, and had to instead use some tricks, such as changing IP addresses.
