The administration of Khanh Hoa Province in south-central Vietnam on Wednesday held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Doc Da Trang industrial park project, whose price tag is VND1.807 trillion (US$70 million).
The Doc Da Trang industrial park, located in the Van Phong Economic Zone spanning Van Ninh District and Ninh Hoa Town, is being developed by Viglacera Yen My Industrial Park Development Joint Stock Company.
The project spans nearly 288 hectares, with over 204 hectares dedicated to industrial production and warehousing, with a maximum construction density of 70 percent and a maximum height of five stories.
The park also includes a 4.2-hectare service area featuring commercial buildings, medical facilities, sports zones, worker accommodations, and product exhibition spaces.
The industrial park is expected to operate for 50 years and create approximately 16,000 jobs.
Target industries include clean manufacturing, high-tech processing, precision mechanics, electronics, and supporting industries.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh emphasized that the Doc Da Trang industrial park will accelerate the industrialization and modernization of Khanh Hoa and serve as a significant driver for the development of the Van Phong Economic Zone.
He stressed the importance of developing the industrial park as a smart, modern, and sustainable facility, fostering industrial ecosystems, innovation, high-tech urban areas, and services, while ensuring harmonious development with the local community.
Deputy PM Chinh urged relevant ministries and the Khanh Hoa administration to assist the developer in expediting construction and operations to ensure the park becomes a driving force for regional development.
