Vietnam's low-cost carrier Vietjet is set to open a new air route linking Ho Chi Minh City and bustling and vibrant Shanghai, China to meet the soaring travel demand in early December, the air carrier said in its press release on Saturday.
The airline will operate one flight per day and offer tickets priced at zero dong, exclusive of taxes and fees, every week, starting from December 1.
Passengers can book tickets to fly to Shanghai on its website or the Vietjet Air mobile app.
With a flight time of just over four hours per leg, flights from Tan Son Nhat International Airport are scheduled to take off at 4:25 pm and land at Pudong International Airport in Shanghai at 9:30 pm.
The return flights will depart Shanghai at 11:00 pm and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 2:45 am.
To welcome the new route and celebrate the Singles' Day in China on November 11, Vietjet is delighting passengers with a ‘party’ of millions of tickets priced from VND0, excluding taxes and fees, from now until November 11.
The promotion is applicable to all domestic and international routes with flexible flight time from December 1 to October 31, 2024.
Besides, Vietjet is giving away VND200,000 (US$8.15) e-vouchers for the next trip to passengers booking international round-trip flights and registering an account successfully, apart from entering the PNR code on its website.
Shanghai, located along the Huangpu River, is one of the most famous cities in China.
The city attracts tourists not only for its scenic landmarks, bustling shopping centers, and vibrant urban life, but also for being a leading economic, financial, and logistics hub in China, as well as in the region and the world.
The Ho Chi Minh City - Shanghai route is expected to foster investment cooperation, economic and cultural exchanges, and tourism between the two cities, while helping expand Vietjet’s flight network across Asia and Australia.
