The Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training is seeking applicants for scholarships to study Japanese and Japanese culture in Japan, with courses lasting one year.
Candidates are required to be in their second or third year of the Japanese major, have good conduct, and have delivered a good academic performance in the first semester of the 2013-14 school year.
They must be enrolled at one of the following higher education institutions: Vietnam National University – Hanoi, Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi University, Foreign Trade University – Hanoi & Ho Chi Minh City, Hue University College of Foreign Languages, Da Nang University College of Foreign Languages, Phuong Dong University, Thang Long University, Hong Bang University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages – Information Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, and Hanoi Law University.
Applicants must send their applications to these schools which will choose qualified candidates to recommend to the ministry’s International Education Development arm by February 10.
The Japanese Embassy will organize an oral and written test in early February or March to select scholarship winners.
All courses are expected to begin in October.
