The arrival of autumn has added more charm to the beauty of Ha Giang, a northern Vietnamese province already famous for its magnificent scenery all year round.

Visitors, especially backpackers, often choose to come to Ha Giang in autumn as it is considered the most beautiful season here with landscapes making a dramatic transformation.

In this season, terraced fields in Hoang Su Phi District are a mixture or green and yellow colors, while 'tam giac mach' (buckwheat) flowers bloom across the mountain slopes in the districts of Quan Ba, Dong Van, and Meo Vac.

The cool atmosphere in the morning offers backpackers an enjoyable chill during their motorbike trips on scenic mountainous roads to popular destinations like Vietnam's UNESCO-recognized Dong Van karst plateau, Co Tien Mountain, and the Lung Cu Flag Tower – a monument marking Vietnam’s northernmost point.

The Ma Pi Leng Mountain Pass is a must-see attraction as it is widely regarded by local travelers as one of the 'Great Four' mountain passes in northwestern Vietnam for its hair-raising turns and fairytale-like views.

Below are some photos taken by Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper capturing the picturesque scenery in Ha Giang Province in the autumn:
