Many places in Hanoi are flying national flags at half-mast to honor General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong, who passed away at 1:38 pm on July 19 in Hanoi at the age of 80, though a state funeral for him has yet to take place.
Vietnam will hold a two-day state funeral on July 25 and 26 for the Party chief, during which all recreational and entertainment activities will be suspended.
Multiple buildings and venues in the capital city are showcasing documentaries that depict the life and political career of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on big screens.
A series of buildings, agencies, organizations, and public places started to fly national flags at half-staff early on Monday morning to commemorate the Party chief.
Most shopping malls in Hanoi are displaying the images and biography of the great Party leader, who dedicated his entire life to the Vietnamese Party, state, and people, on huge public screens.
