-- Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung arrived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Friday evening to attend the 27th ASEAN Summit, at which the leaders of ASEAN states are expected to sign documents on the establishment of the ASEAN Community 2015, a significant landmark in the bloc’s development history.

-- The regional minimum wages in Vietnam will increase by 12.4 percent from the current rates as of January 1, 2016, under Governmental Decree 122 dated November 14, 2015. Accordingly, the new wage rates will be VND250,000-400,000 (US$11.1-17.8) per month higher than the current ones, depending on geographical areas.
-- The People’s Committee of District 6 in Ho Chi Minh City has called on the municipal administration to relocate 392 households with a total compensation of VND1.2 trillion (US$53,400) to serve the project to re-create Hang Bang canal.
-- 53-year-old Nguyen Thi Thu and her 12-year-old grandboy died in a fire at their home in the southern province of An Giang on Friday. The fire broke out when the petrol she was pouring from a larger tank to smaller containers for illegal retail sale caught the flame from a lit candle she was holding in her hand, local authorities reported.

-- The Dutch city of Emmen and the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding under which Emmen will provide Sa Dec with technologies in flower cultivation and connect the Vietnamese city with Dutch flower firms to extend its export markets.
-- Ben Tre Import Export Joint Stock Company (Betrimex) has opened its US$20 million Thanh Thanh Cong Plant in Giong Trom District of the southern province of Ben Tre Province to prepare coconut juice for export at a initial capacity of 37 million liters per year.
