One person was killed and 19 others injured after a truck collided with a passenger bus in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta early on Wednesday morning.
The accident occurred along a section of National Highway No. 1 in Cai Be District, Tien Giang Province, about 110km southwest of Ho Chi Minh City, at around 0:30, police confirmed on Wednesday morning.
Huynh Van Lon, 39, was driving a 48-seater coach carrying 23 passengers and one bus conductor when the vehicle crashed into the median strip and was knocked on its side.
The bus was then hit by a truck controlled by 29-year-old Tran Thanh Nhan, which was traveling in the opposite direction.
Police officers and local residents worked together to take the victims out of the passenger bus.
Tran Thi Loan, 53, one of the passengers, was killed on the spot, while 19 others on the bus were wounded and brought to hospitals in Tien Giang Province and Ho Chi Minh City for emergency treatment.

The crash site was sealed off for investigation and recovery efforts.
A serious traffic jam occurred in the area in the wake of the crash.
The Tien Giang traffic safety committee said it will provide financial support for the deceased and injured victims.
