Two young children were killed after a parked truck slid down a slope and crashed into a house in Vietnam’s Central Highlands on Monday afternoon.

The accident took place in Dinh Trang Thuong Commune, Di Linh District, Lam Dong Province at around 4:20 pm on Monday, the district police unit confirmed later the same day.

A truck was parked along a local street when it slid down a slope and crashed into a wooden house on the side of the road.

The house completely collapsed, killing a four-year-old girl and a two-year-old boy.

Their parents escaped death with minor injuries.

The truck driver, who has yet to be identified, was not in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

Officers arrived at the scene shortly after to deal with the accident.

Local authorities have offered necessary support for the family, which is classified as a poor household in the locality.
